History


Sean John Combs graduated from the Roman Catholic Mount Saint Michael Academy in he year of 1987, He played American Football for the academy an the won second devision in the year of 1986. Sean Combs the said “he was giving the name puff because he huffs and puff when he is angry” and the name "Daddy" is another version of "player". Sean John Combs better know has Puff daddy, diddy, and P.diddy. Sean “Diddy” Combs is an American rapper/ producer, entrepreneur.


Diddy was born on the 4th of November 1969. Sean Combs is the founder of current record label Bad boy records which was formed in 1993. In March of 1993 he signed fellow rapper Notorious BIG to his label and soon rose to success and fame with the artist.With bad boy records on the up diddy started signing more acts such as Craig Mack, Faith Evans, the group 112, etc. During the time on the rise diddy worked with fellow artist for his debut album “no Way out” such as usher, Ludacris and many more.


In 1997 diddy release his debut single “can’t hold me down” which then spent 28 weeks on the billboards with the single peaking at number one. In March 1997 diddy’s artist notorious BIG was involved in a feud with fellow rapper Tupac Shakur, which results in both rappers being murdered. In 1997 diddy’s single from his debut album “No Way Out” titled “I’ll be missing you” was a tribute to his artist notorious BIG who was murdered in a drive by shooting. The single spent Eleven weeks at top of the billboards, the single went on to top billboards on world’s charts. The album earned Combs five nomination for the Grammy awards in 1998, with diddy wining the best rap album Grammy respectively. In September of the year 2000, the album went platinum and sold over seven million copies.

Sean John Combs age 44 was born on the 4th of November 1969 in Harlem, New York in the United States of America. He was raised by his mother who’s was a model, after his father was murdered in 1974. Sean Combs grew up in New York, and attended a Catholic boy’s school in the Bronx. He then earned the nickname "Puffy" in high school “because of his habit of puffing out his chest to make his body seem bigger”. Sean Combs later on attended the University of Howard till he dropped out in1990, after two years of studding business administration before embarking his career as a well-known rapper. Sean John Combs became an internship at New York's Uptown Records.

Sean John combs was well know for throwing parties and most of the parties attracted almost thousands of people and also working as an intern for Uptown Records. After getting fired from his job in Uptown Record, he established his own record company called Bad Boys Records in 1993. Sean then took on new artists called The Notorious B.I.G and Craig Mack in which they released hit singles, followed by successful LPs, particularly The Notorious B.I.G.'s Ready to Die.


Sean john combs then sign more acts to the bad boys records entertainment as well as Carl Thomas, Faith Evans, 112, Total and Father MC. He also establish Rappers, R&B, Hip-hop recording artist such as Mariah Carey, SWV, New Edition, Boyz II Men, Mary J. Blige, Lil' Kim, Babyface, TLC, Aretha Franklin, Method Man, Faith Evans and Biggie Smalls.


Other than being a rapper and producer, Sean Combs has also take part in appearing in several films and TV series and shows such as Hawaii Five O, CSI Miami and Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Also Combs produces the reality show on MTV making the band in 2002 on till 2009.

Sean Combs better know has Diddy has had a dazzling career in the music business has a rapper and a producer. Diddy has been recognise has a rap legend and will be class has one of the greatest rappers to ever live. During diddy’s glittering career he has produced five albums with two launching at number one on the billboard charts (“No Way Out” in 1997, “Press Play” in 2006). The lowest charting album diddy has released titled “Last Train to Paris” was released in 2006, which debuted at number 7 on the billboards. In an incredible career diddy has also had a splendid solo career topping the billboards no less than five times with his own singles, with “I’ll be missing” topping the charts for eleven consecutive weeks. The track “I’ll be missing you” featuring faith Evans and the group 112 was a tribute to notorious BIG who had died earlier in the same year. Another chart topping singles diddy produced was titled “can’t anybody hold me down”from his debut album “No Way Out” and went on to spend 6 weeks at number one.

The next big hit that diddy had released after his rise to fame was a single titled “Mo Money, Mo Problems” featuring fellow artist Mase and Notorious BIG. The single was release of the second album from Notorious BIG, which was signed to diddy’s record label. The single went on the top the billboards for 2 weeks. Recently Diddy released his latest single titled “Big Homie” featuring Rick Ross and French Montana. The single has yet to reach the billboards, but it has proven to be a big hit with his fan and many of his fellow rappers. The single “Big Homie” will be off diddy’s 6th studio album titled “MMM”.


Album Released




Sean Combs was acknowledged in the music industry as Puff Daddy and started his career as a rapper and the first album he released was “No Way Out”, which was released on the 1st of July 1997 and released his first single, Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down which went on the Bill Bored Hot 100 Chart. The album earned Sean Combs five Grammy for Best Rap Album in 1998. On August 24th 1999, he released a debut solo album called “Forever” in North side of America and also in the UK the next day. The album forever by the music group Bad Boy Record reached number two on the Billboard 200 and number one on the Top R&B and Hip-Hop Albums chart and this stayed on the Billboard for one week. “The Saga Continues” was then released on July 10th 2001. This album was the last studio album released by the joint venture and it reached number two on the Billboard 200 and the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. This album was the only album Combs didn’t feature any guest appearances by Jay-Z or Lil Kim.



“We Invented the Remix” is a remix album produced my combs as bad boy record, the album was released on the 14th of May 2002. It features remixes of hit singles by artists from Diddy's Bad Boy Records record label. The album reached the top of the of the united state billboard 200 albums chart for a week. The album reached 17th place in the UK album chat and the singles "I Need a Girl ", which reached number two in the United States. Sean combs released also released another album called “Press Play” on the 17th of October 2006 on the Bad Boy Record label. The album included many artists and it also debuted at number one in the United State of America Billboard 200 Chat. The bad boy records album Press Play became available to preview on MTV on the 10th of October 2006, a week before the album was sold in stores. And also on September 18th 2007 “Puff” aka Combs featured 50 Cent and Jay-Z for the "Forbes I Get Money Billion Dollar Remix". Sean combs then released his album “Last Train to Paris” on the 13th December 2010. The album preceded four singles which was a success in the United State such as "Coming Home" and it successful hit number twelve on the United State Hot 100, number four in the United Kingdom , and number seven in Canada. Sean then performed "Coming Home" live on American Idol On the 10th of March 2011.

Sean Combs owns a lot of businesses such as his very on clothing line called Sean John. The fashion lifestyle company was founded in the year of 1998, selling product such as Clothing, Footwear, Fragrance and Fashion Accessories. His clothing line made its first appearance with  men's sportswear collection for spring in the year of 1999. Since its launch, Sean John has enjoyed an industrial success with revenues and now beyond $525 million annually. Sean John has often appeared at the award ceremony for the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) held annually in New York. For five consecutive years, from 2000 to 2005, Sean John was nominated for its excellence in design.


Sean Combs owned two restaurant which he named Justin's, after his son. There was one located in New York which got closed down in 2007 and the other in Atlanta which also closed down in 2012. It is said that Combs closed the restaurant due to him pursuing other businesses in music, television, fashion, fragrance and spirit.


Revolt TV is a new television network that began broadcasting in 2014. It was launched on the 21th October 2013. Revolt is also an American music oriented digital cable television network which is owned by combs.



Sean has named his own alcohol called Ciroc which is a type of vodka and was manufactured in France. Sean sponsors this and made it the second selling vodka in America by advertising it in his music business such as videos, Facebook, Instagram, twitter and so on. In October 2007 Combs agreed to help develop the Ciroc vodka brand for a 50 per cent share of the profits.


Sean Combs has his own record label called Bad Boy Entertainment which founded in 1993. As of today the bad boy entertainment operates as a supplementary of Universal Music Group, and is distributed by Inters cope Records.

This year Sean John Combs premier “Big Homie", featuring Rick Ross and French Montana, as the first single from his upcoming fifth studio album MMM on February 26, 2014, to be released. The song was released for digital download on March 24 and two days later the trailer for the music video was released. The full version of the music video will be released on March 31.
